Stronger together

An FVG alone is a decent clue. An FVG that also sits inside a discount zone, lines up with an order block, or follows a liquidity sweep is a much higher-quality setup than any single signal on its own.

The classic sequence

A common sequence is a sweep, then a break of structure, then an FVG. The sweep clears stops. The break confirms new direction. The FVG left by that break becomes the entry.

Filter, don't trade every gap

Not every FVG needs to be traded. Filtering for the ones with real confluence behind them cuts down the noise from the dozens of small, meaningless gaps that print every day.
