The Asian session
Sessions & Killzones
The quiet range-builder
The Asian session runs roughly 7 PM to midnight New York time. Volume is thinner than London or New York, and price tends to range rather than trend hard.
A reference box for later
Many traders use the Asian range, its high and low, as a reference box. A break of that box during London or New York often signals the day's real directional move.
Don't force a breakout here
Trying to force a big, fast breakout trade during thin Asian hours often just means getting chopped in a tight range that never commits to a real direction.
