The optimal trade entry (OTE) zone

Order Blocks & Premium/Discount

A deeper, more precise pocket

The OTE zone is a specific pocket of the discount, for longs, or premium, for shorts, roughly the 62% to 79% retracement of the most recent swing. It's a deeper, more precise pullback zone than the range's basic 50% line.

A deeper pullback for a better price

OTE entries mean waiting for a deeper pullback than many traders are comfortable with. The reward is a tighter stop and better average price if the level holds.

Not every pullback gets there

Not every pullback reaches the OTE zone before reversing. Just like an FVG that never fills, an OTE entry that never gets touched simply means no trade, not a forced one.

Check yourself

The OTE zone roughly covers…

  1. The 62% to 79% retracement of the recent swing correct
  2. The 0% to 10% retracement of the recent swing
  3. Anywhere at all in the range

It's a specific, deep retracement pocket, not the shallow start of a pullback.
