Why almost nobody improves

Journaling & Review

Reps without review is just repetition

Ten thousand hours only produce mastery when they include feedback. A trader who takes a thousand trades without ever reviewing them has not had a thousand lessons — they've had one lesson a thousand times. Reviewing is the step that converts experience into skill, and it's skipped almost universally because it's tedious and it involves looking directly at your worst decisions.

Taking many trades without reviewing them produces…

  1. Mastery through volume
  2. Repetition of the same mistakes correct
  3. Faster learning

Without feedback there is nothing to correct against. Volume just entrenches whatever you were already doing.
